Live in a safe apartment in Dallas? Please help!?

I have searched everywhere: Addison, Richardson, Carrollton, North Dallas. I can't find a safe apartment for my price range, which is under $490. I go to school in central Dallas, but I'm willing to drive out 25 min. Suggestions?
